Daniele Ghilardi
ROM
Provides assist in first UCL start
Ghilardi assisted once to go with three shots (one on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Tuesday's 4-0 win versus Slovan Bratislava.
Analysis: Ghilardi started for the first time of his career in the Champions League and recorded one assist, three shots (one on target), one accurate cross and one chance created across the full 90 minutes in Tuesday's 4-0 Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava. He supplied the decisive headed pass for Mario Hermoso's 21st minute opener following Lorenzo Pellegrini's free-kick delivery, while also threatening from distance during the closing stages. Ghilardi helped Roma secure a clean sheet as the visitors managed just one shot, combining attacking production with a largely comfortable defensive outing.
Holds his own against Lecce
Ghilardi registered one cross (zero accurate), five tackles (four won) and three clearances in Monday's 4-0 win against Lecce.
Analysis: Ghilardi took Evan N'Dicka's (thigh) place at the last minute and was solid in the back, piling up a decent amount of stats. He'll compete with Konstantinos Koulierakis and Leonardo Balerdi to be the top defensive deputy throughout the season. He played 23 times (nine starts) in Serie A last year, helping secure four clean sheets and notching 30 tackles, 20 interceptions and 56 clearances.
