Begins rehab during preseason
Odobert returned for the first day of preseason as he continues rehabilitation from his ACL injury, the club posted.
Analysis: Odobert has recently begun his rehabilitation program and is targeting a return between late November and Christmas. The winger's presence with the squad on day one marks the start of a lengthy recovery process rather than a return to full training. He had been building a regular role before the injury, starting seven of Tottenham's last eight league and UCL matches. Odobert is expected to follow an individualized program throughout preseason as the club manages his path back to full fitness.
Torn ACL confirmed
Odobert suffered a torn ACL and will see a specialist next week before undergoing surgery, confirmed the team.
Analysis: It's a brutal development for Odobert, who was finally getting some run with Tottenham after rarely playing the prior season, partly due to injury. This unfortunately keeps him out until after next season starts, meaning he won't get a preseason. Nine months from February is November, so that will be the goal, but prior to surgery, it's hard to give a better timeline.
