Shares attacking midfield role
Fermin has alternated between the starting XI and the bench this season, sharing the attacking midfield role with Dani Olmo.
Analysis: Fermin continues to rotate with Dani Olmo in the attacking midfield position, generally starting every other match rather than holding a permanent place in the XI. Despite the rotation, Fermin has been highly productive, recording four goals and two assists while creating 11 chances across six La Liga appearances. His attacking output should keep him firmly involved even if he continues to split starts with Olmo.
Earns three goal contributions
Fermin scored one goal and assisted twice from four shots and four chances created in Sunday's 5-0 victory over Valencia. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 65th minute.
Analysis: Fermin looked to be the heart of the Barcelona attack Sunday with his performance against Valencia, earning assists on Lamine Yamal's sixth-minute goal and Raphinha's 50th-minute goal. However, that was not all, as Fermin added a goal of his own in the 22nd minute. He has been in great form to open the new season, already with four goals and two assists in four appearances (three starts).
