Two shots Sunday
Rigg recorded two shots (zero on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 0-0 draw versus Leeds United.
Analysis: Rigg was back in the starting XI for Sunderland, a second straight league start for the midfielder. He would notch a chance created, a cross and two shots, although to no avail. The midfielder is still waiting for a goal contribution this season, recording four appearances (two starts).
Waits for first league start
Rigg has made two substitute appearances for Sunderland through the first stretch of the 2026/27 Premier League season and is still waiting for his first start.
Analysis: Rigg has yet to crack the starting lineup despite an impressive preseason and a standout Carabao Cup showing against Hull City, with manager Regis Le Bris still preferring other options in midfield. He has zero goals and assists across his two substitute cameos so far, though Le Bris has publicly praised his versatility across multiple midfield and attacking positions. A first league start could arrive soon given those comments, but for now he remains a rotation piece.
