Expected back against Leipzig
Uzun (thigh) will miss Turkey's match against Italy on Monday but is expected to return to full training and be available for Saturday's clash against RB Leipzig, according to Bild.
Analysis: Uzun will sit out a second consecutive international match after also missing the clash against Belgium, though his absence is considered precautionary. The attacking midfielder is expected to resume full team training before the weekend and should be in contention against Leipzig if his recovery continues as planned. Competition for attacking places remains significant, with Jonathan Burkardt, Younes Ebnoutalib and Ritsu Doan also pushing for starting roles.
Absence deemed precautionary
Uzun was removed from the squad for Friday's match against Belgium due to load management and cautionary reasons, according to Christopher Michel of Absolut Fussball.
Analysis: Uzun was a worry to some Frankfurt fans Friday after he was dropped from Turkiye's team, but the reason is now clearer. The attacker was sat as a precautionary measure, needing to manage his workload and not overdo it during the break, having already started in all four games this season for his club. That said, his availability for their first match after the break against Leipzig on Oct. 10 still seems to be in the picture, that is, unless a setback or further injury is revealed.
