Sustains thigh injury
Favasuli suffered a medium-grade right rectus femoris strain while playing with Italy U-21, Napoli announced.
Analysis: Favasuli was starting to be a serious threat to Matteo Politano's minutes, but he endured a fairly serious muscular problem while on international duty and could need up to a month and a half to recuperate. David Neres, Antonio Vergara and Alisson Santos (thigh), when healthy, will pick up the slack.
Assists winner Sunday
Favasuli assisted once to go with one shot (one on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 1-0 win over Bologna.
Analysis: Favasuli made his Serie A debut Sunday, replacing Matteo Politano at halftime. In the 66th minute his cross assisted Stanislav Lobotka's match-winning goal, making it a dream debut for the young winger. It was one of two chances he created in the match and he also put one shot on target in his 45 minutes off the bench.
Heads to Napoli
Favasuli has joined Napoli on loan with an obligation to buy from Catanzaro.
Analysis: Favasuli stood out in Serie B in 2025/2026, notching two goals and nine assists in 41 appearances. He hadn't debuted in Serie A during his time with Fiorentina. He'll deputize Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Leonardo Spinazzola on the defensive wings, thanks to his versatility.
