Surgery successful
El-Abdellaoui (knee) has received successful surgery and is set to return to Celta in the coming days, according to his club.
Analysis: El-Abdellaoui was set for surgery and has undergone the operation successfully, with the forward now ready to start his recovery process. He will return to his club in the coming days to start the process, likely needing a few weeks before he starts any movement and physical therapy. He will still be expected to return in 2027, hopefully returning early in the year and not missing too much time after January.
Set for knee surgery
El-Abdellaoui will undergo surgery after being diagnosed with a small loose body in his left knee, according to the club.
Analysis: El-Abdellaoui is now set for surgery after initially being diagnosed with synovitis in the knee, extending his spell on the sidelines beyond the international break. The procedure represents a more significant setback than initially anticipated, and Celta Vigo have yet to provide a timetable for his return. Further clarity on his recovery should emerge following surgery.
