Returns in practice game

Murillo (hamstring) saw action in Saturday's offseason matchup against Barcelona.

Analysis: Murillo was included as part of a potential first-unit lineup to face the La Liga champions, confirming he's ready for his regular workload following his injury recovery. The central defender will aim to be favored over Morato in the initial stages of the season, in which case he'll be one of his side's most reliable sources of defensive output, having posted averages of 5.2 clearances and 4.1 ball recoveries per game last season.

Progressing in rehab

Murillo is progressing in his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury but will take a bit more time before returning to full training, according to coach Oliver Glasner, per Nottingham Post. "Murillo the same. He is already training and doing good rehab sessions, but now it is increasing the intensity and getting him back to normal training."

Analysis: Murillo missed Saturday's 2-0 preseason win over Notts County alongside Callum Hudson-Odoi and Nicolo Savona as all three continue their respective recoveries. Manager Oliver Glasner said the defender is already training and completing good rehab sessions, with the next step being an increase in intensity as he works back toward normal training. The coach noted a more measured timeline for Murillo compared to Hudson-Odoi, who is expected to return quickest of the group. Murillo is expected to continue building up his workload as Nottingham Forest's preseason progresses.
