Earns second start of season

Acheampong recorded one clearance in Sunday's 2-1 defeat to Arsenal.

Analysis: Acheampong registered one clearance across his 90 minutes in Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Arsenal, starting at right centre-back after Lewis Colwill dropped to the bench and handling the occasion without any notable defensive errors despite the difficulty of the fixture against one of the Premier League's most fluid attacking sides. The young English defender has now started two of Chelsea's three opening Premier League matches, suggesting he has established himself as a genuine option in the centre-back rotation

Starts again at right-back

Acheampong had three tackles (two won) and two clearances in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Manchester City.

Analysis: Acheampong would once again receive the start at right-back, filling in for Malo Gusto as he covers for an injured Marc Cucurella (hamstring) at left-back. Acheampong is likely to return to the bench once Cucurella returns, only starting in six games this season between center-back and right-back, mainly a rotational option.
