Assist and clean sheet Friday
Schuster assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Friday's 3-0 victory against Chelsea.
Analysis: Schuster made his second straight start Friday and put together an excellent performance. He assisted Jaidon Anthony's opener in the 61st minute with a headed pass, his first goal contribution with his new club. He also kept a clean sheet against the strong Chelsea attack, contributing 12 clearances, three blocked shots and one tackle in his productive 90 minutes of action.
Records nine clearances
Schuster registered one shot (zero on goal) in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Sunderland.
Analysis: Schuster was called upon unexpectedly after being unused in Brentford's opening two league fixtures but responded with nine clearances across 73 minutes, the highest total among Brentford's defenders Saturday. That production showed he can handle a substantial defensive workload despite entering with limited match action. If Nathan Collins is forced to miss time, Schuster's performance gives Brentford a viable option to take on increased minutes at center-back.
Signs for Brentford
Schuster has joined Brentford from Red Bull Salzburg on a contract until June 2031 with an option of a further year, subject to international clearance, his new club announced.
Analysis: Schuster made 29 appearances across all competitions for Salzburg this season including three in the Europa League, with a notable start against Premier League side Aston Villa among his highlights. Schuster began his professional career with Salzburg's feeder club Liefering before breaking into the senior squad, and was part of the Salzburg squad that featured at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. Coach Keith Andrews expressed his delight at completing the signing, praising the teenager's determination and potential while noting his experience at a high level despite his young age. An Austria Under-21 international who has represented his country from Under-16 level upward, Schuster is expected to develop further under coach Andrews in west London after signing what is a long-term commitment to the Bees.
