Set for six-week absence

Ansah (back) won't be available for at least six weeks due to a spinal problem, with coach Sergej Jakirovic revealing the expected timeline. "Six weeks out, this is the minimum. It's interesting because if we didn't send him for a medical and he signed without one, he would play. They found some problems with his spine, I think. The specialist's recommendation is to stay away from the pitch for six weeks, so we will see. Now we will try to make sure that he has a good recovery and then he can join us.", Eddie Lyons of Hayters.com reports.

Analysis: Ansah signed a five-year contract with Hull after joining from Union Berlin during the latest transfer window, but his debut for his new club will apparently be delayed until the final months of 2026. The young forward is still considered for a depth role behind Oliver McBurnie and Mohamed-Ali Cho, and it would seem the team will give him as much time as he needs to recover before putting him back on the field.

Dealing with back issue

Ansah (back) is uncertain for Saturday's Premier League clash against Aston Villa and is seeing a specialist Thursday to determine the extent of the issue, according to coach Sergej Jakirovic.

Analysis: Ansah's back problem could delay his Hull City debut just days after completing his move from Union Berlin. The specialist assessment should provide more clarity on the severity of the issue and whether the forward can be involved Saturday. His availability remains in doubt for now, and Hull are unlikely to take unnecessary risks with their new signing if the problem requires further treatment or recovery time.

Signs five year deal with Hull

Ansah has signed a five year contract with Hull City through the summer of 2031, joining from Union Berlin, according to the club.

Analysis: Ansah featured in all but one of Union Berlin's 37 competitive matches last season, scoring five goals with three assists, including a brace on his top flight debut against VfB Stuttgart. The 21 year old German forward came through Paderborn's academy, contributing seven goals and eight assists across 60 second division appearances there, and has represented Germany at both U20 and U21 level, now beginning the next chapter of his career in the Premier League.
