Sent off vs. Real Betis
Mbappe was sent off in Tuesday's UCL match against Real Betis.
Analysis: Mbappe got tangled with Betis defender Natan after the Brazilian allegedly celebrated Betis' third goal close to him, and Mbappe responded with an elbow to the face. VAR caught the sequence, and Mbappe was sent off as a result. The young forward should remain available for Ligue 1 matches, but he won't be an option for the UCL MD2 match against Arsenal on Oct. 13. Mbappe should return to the European stage when Lille take on Galatasaray on Oct. 21 in MD3.
Comes off bench on Sunday
Mbappe generated four crosses (three accurate) and two corners in Sunday's 2-0 loss to AJ Auxerre.
Analysis: Mbappe replaced Nabil Bentaleb at halftime and went on to record the joint most crosses in the game. He created three chances and also made a clearance, a tackle, and an interception. Mbappe featured in 18 games this campaign, starting only four times and contributing three goals and one assist.
