Makes squad for Antonio Puerta Trophy
Gonzalez (groin) has been included in the squad for the Antonio Puerta Trophy match against Aston Villa on Friday.
Analysis: Gonzalez picked up the injury with Spain U21, but it wasn't as serious as originally expected, and he's in the squad for this friendly match. Gonzalez should continue as a backup option between the posts for Sevilla when the league resumes against Levante on Monday, Oct. 12.
Suffers psoas discomfort
Gonzalez has returned from the Spain U21 training camp and rejoins Sevilla's group Tuesday due to minor discomfort in his psoas, with his evolution to be assessed by the club's medical services, according to the club.
Analysis: Gonzalez has been operating as Sevilla's backup goalkeeper this season behind Odysseas Vlachodimos, so his absence would carry little practical impact, with Loren Luchino and Rafa likely to compete for the number two role if he needs time to recover.
