Targeting December squad return
Panichelli (knee) has confirmed that he is targeting a return to the matchday squad in December as he continues his recovery from a torn ACL, according to Alsasports.
Analysis: Panichelli appears to be making steady progress in his rehabilitation after recently resuming running on the grass and stepping up his workload in the gym. The striker is now aiming to rejoin the squad in December, potentially putting him ahead of the initial January timeline outlined by coach Hugo Oliveira, though he'll still need to clear several hurdles before returning to competitive action. Panichelli was a major offensive force for Strasbourg last season, scoring 16 goals across 27 Ligue 1 appearances, and his eventual comeback would provide a significant boost to the attack.
Working intensively in gym
Panichelli (knee) was spotted working intensively in the gym on his recovery Friday, the club posted.
Analysis: Panichelli had recently completed his first jog on the training pitch nearly six months after tearing his ACL, with coach Hugo Oliveira already making clear he is not expecting the forward back before January. Strasbourg has no reason to rush him given the club's strong attacking form even without him, and Panichelli, who scored 16 goals in 27 appearances last season before the injury, continues building toward his eventual return.
