Makes seven clearances in draw
Herrington recorded one cross (zero accurate), seven clearances and two tackles in Sunday's 1-1 draw versus Brentford.
Analysis: Herrington was a busy presence in the back three against the Bees and went the full 90 minutes for only the second time this campaign. It was his third start in the last four EPL weeks, and the defensive numbers were there once again, adding to his totals of 15 clearances, five tackles and four blocks in that span. His spot in the lineup isn't secure, but Nobel Mendy's groin issue could keep opening the door for him. In that case, he'll look to continue racking up defensive actions for a team that spends long stretches of games without the ball.
Playing regularly off bench
Herrington has appeared in each of Hull City's five matches in the 2026/27 Premier League so far, starting once.
Analysis: The former Colorado Rapids defender came off the bench in each of Hull's first four league matches before starting and going the full 90 in a 2-1 loss to Newcastle just before the international break. In those five appearances, the towering center-back has notched 10 clearances, two interceptions, two tackles and two blocked shots.
Makes EPL debut
Herrington made four clearances as a substitute during Saturday's 2-0 win over Manchester United.
Analysis: Herrington entered the match in the 64th minute with Hull leading 2-0, helping them close out the clean sheet. The young defender made his EPL debut in the match, but it's yet to be seen how much playing time he'll accumulate in his first season of English football.
Transfers to Hull City
Herrington transferred from Colorado Rapids to Hull City on Wednesday.
Analysis: Herrington starred for Australia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is now making the big jump, moving from the MLS to the Premier League. He should add depth at center-back for the Tigers, though his fantasy appeal shouldn't be very high as a center-back for a recently promoted side that's bound to struggle defensively.
Makes four clearances, misses PK
Herrington generated four clearances and one interception in Friday's 1-1 (5-3) penalty shootout loss against Egypt.
Analysis: Despite being one of the youngest players in the tournament, Herrington stepped up to take a penalty for Australia in the shootout, but he missed. The defender started in Australia's last two matches, and the Socceroos conceded just one goal with him in the starting lineup. Herrington is expected to report back to Colorado with the Rapids for the rest of the 2026 MLS season.
Strong debut in defense
Herrington generated two tackles (one won), four clearances and one interception in Thursday's 0-0 draw versus Paraguay.
Analysis: Herrington got the call for his first start of the tournament in the back three at the expense of Cameron Burgess. The 18 year old did not look out of place, putting in a solid defensive shift with two tackles, one interception and four clearances as Australia kept a clean sheet.
Solid defensively in clean sheet
Herrington registered two tackles (one won), nine clearances and one interception in Wednesday's 1-0 win against Minnesota United.
Analysis: Herrington was superb at the back, leading his side in clearances and blocks with nine and two while adding two tackles as his team kept a third clean sheet. The young center back has been an ever present this season, playing every minute of league football across 13 appearances and accumulating 19 tackles, 11 interceptions, 11 blocks and 80 clearances,while also contributing offensively with one goal and one assist.
