Zeitler (illness) returned to full team training Tuesday after recovering from a gastrointestinal infection, according to Neue Westfalische.
Analysis: Zeitler was a late withdrawal from the squad against Freiburg due to the illness, but his return to regular training suggests the issue is now behind him. The 19-year-old should therefore return to contention for Saturday's trip to Borussia Dortmund, provided he experiences no setback during the remainder of the week. His quick recovery should allow him to resume his role in Paderborn's squad after missing just one match.
Loaned to Paderborn
Zeitler joined Paderborn on loan from Hoffenheim, the club announced.
Analysis: Zeitler joined Hoffenheim from his hometown club Ingolstadt in the summer of 2025 and produced 17 points on 15 goals and two assists across 38 third division matches with Hoffenheim's U23 side last season. Prior to that, he made 38 appearances for Ingolstadt's first team, contributing 10 goals and four assists, after coming through the club's academy. The 19-year-old forward has also represented Germany at multiple youth national team levels. Zeitler is expected to add depth to Paderborn's attacking options during his loan spell.
