Suspended for Rennes clash
Makosso will miss Auxerre's match against Rennes on Oct. 11 due to suspension following a fifth caution, effective from September 29, according to the league.
Analysis: Makosso has made four Ligue 1 appearances this season, contributing one assist, three tackles, eight interceptions and 25 clearances, since joining from Luton Town over the summer, continuing to establish himself in central defense for Auxerre. He will likely be replaced by Elikya Legros in the back three during his absence against the Bretons.
Assists in win
Makosso assisted once to go with two crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-0 win over Nice.
Analysis: Makosso made the decisive contribution of the match, threading a through ball into the box for Cameron Archer to take around the goalkeeper and finish. His 17 defensive contributions led all players on the night, with 11 clearances reflecting a commanding performance at the back that helped Auxerre keep a clean sheet. At just 22 years old, his ability to contribute at both ends of the pitch is an encouraging sign, and his next fixture against Brest, who sit eighth, presents an opportunity to build on what has been a strong individual showing.
