Stuck behind senior centre-backs
Reis has been restricted to a single minute of Premier League action since returning to Manchester City, with his only start coming in the Carabao Cup.
Analysis: Reis returned to Manchester City this summer after a season as a regular in the Girona defence, where he made 36 La Liga appearances. Coach Enzo Maresca said in pre-season that he was happy with his work but left his future open until the end of the tour, and he stayed at the club beyond the close of the window. His league involvement so far amounts to one minute off the bench, with his only start coming in the full 90 minutes of the 5-0 Carabao Cup win over Norwich. With Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi, Abdukodir Khusanov and Josko Gvardiol all ahead of him, further chances could depend on injuries or rotation during a busy schedule.
Returns to Manchester City
Reis will return to parent club Manchester City following the conclusion of his loan spell at Girona, the club announced.
Analysis: Reis made 36 La Liga appearances for Girona this season, contributing one goal and one assist, establishing himself as one of the most reliable young center-backs in the division and earning his first senior call-up to the Brazil national team in the process. The 20-year-old's consistent performances throughout the campaign have impressed Manchester City, with the defender now expected to compete for a first-team role at the Etihad Stadium under incoming manager Enzo Maresca.
