Scores in win over Newcastle

Cherif scored one goal to go with three shots (two on goal) in Monday's 4-1 victory over Newcastle United.

Analysis: Cherif found the back of the net in the early stages of the second half with a rocket from the edge of the box that went into an impossible angle for Lukas Hornicek. This was Cherif's first goal and first start of the season, though it remains to be seen whether he'll stay in the XI moving forward now that Taiwo Awoniyi is no longer suspended.

Appears once early season

Cherif has appeared in one match for 30 minutes so far this campaign.

Analysis: Cherif was welcomed to Coventry this summer but has struggled for time to begin the season, with only one appearance in five games this campaign. However, he sat out the first few weeks of the season due to fitness levels, building up to be ready for the speed of Premier League play, hurting his availability to play. He does see some potential at forward, but will have to show his levels before a great deal of time comes his way, likely remaining a rotational pick at best until he sees a further breakout.
