Links back to Nottingham Forest
Bindon will return to parent club Nottingham Forest following the conclusion of his loan spell at Sheffield United.
Analysis: Bindon made 25 Championship starts across 2,029 minutes, contributing one goal, 33 tackles, 35 interceptions and 174 clearances in what was a commanding defensive campaign for the Blades. Bindon represented New Zealand at the World Cup, having made three appearances across 96 minutes for the All Whites, and will return to Forest following the conclusion of the tournament where his future will be assessed heading into the 2026/27 season.
Posts heap of clearances versus Belgium
Bindon won one tackle and had 10 clearances, two crosses (zero accurate) and one interception in Friday's 5-1 defeat against Belgium.
Analysis: Bindon drew his first start in the tournament and piled up stats in the back, but while he had a solid first half, he eventually faltered like the rest of the defense as Belgium pulled away in the score. He had notched just one shot (one on target) and one tackle (one won) in his previous two short showings.
One shot off bench
Bindon had one shot (one on goal) in Sunday's 3-1 defeat against Egypt.
Analysis: Bindon came off the bench in his second straight match, this time replacing Tim Payne in the 85th minute. He managed one shot on target in the 98th minute, but Mostaga Shobeir came up with a save to seal the victory. Bindon didn't make an impact beyond that shot, but it was still a more impactful performance than his first appearance. He will likely be on the bench again for Friday's final group stage match versus Belgium.
