Brilliant in win
Ngumoha assisted twice to go with two shots (zero on goal), six crosses (one accurate) and three chances created in Tuesday's 4-3 victory against Villarreal.
Analysis: Ngumoha was the man of the match during Tuesday's win. The winger was simply incredible off the right, he was beating his man at will and putting in dangerous ball time-after-time. Ngumoha has all of the talent and potential in the world and seems to be shining in an expanded role. He's not going to take an everyday role due to the other options available, but it's clear he's going to be an important first team option for the foreseeable future.
Forced off with cramps Wednesday
Ngumoha contributed one secondary assist, created one chance, registered one shot and delivered two crosses before being forced off due to cramps during Wednesday's 6-3 Champions League victory against LASK, according to James Pearce of The Athletic.
Analysis: Ngumoha made an impact in Liverpool's six-goal performance against LASK, contributing to the buildup of one goal while providing additional attacking production before cramps brought his appearance to a premature end. The young winger has primarily operated as a substitute this season, recording four Premier League appearances, including one start, but Cody Gakpo's ankle injury could create additional opportunities for him on the flanks, although he will continue competing with Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz for playing time.
Makes historic England appearance
Ngumoha played 19 minutes off the bench in England's 2-0 Nations League win over Czechia, becoming the third-youngest player to make a competitive appearance for the Three Lions.
Analysis: Ngumoha made his competitive England debut just 31 days after his 18th birthday, with only Wayne Rooney and Jude Bellingham having done so at a younger age. The winger has made three Premier League appearances this season, including one start, while also logging 72 minutes in the Carabao Cup against Tottenham. Ngumoha has primarily served as a substitute for Liverpool, but Cody Gakpo's injury could open up additional opportunities after the international break as he competes with Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz for minutes out wide.
Quiet off the bench
Ngumoha recorded one shot (zero on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Fulham.
Analysis: Ngumoha came off the bench but didn't look like much of a difference-maker even going against tired legs. He is set for a larger role in the first team this season, but it remains to be seen if he has a chance of displacing Victor Munoz or Bradley Barcola for a starting spot, especially with Cody Gakpo also in flying form.
Struggles to open campaign
Ngumoha generated one shot (zero on goal) and two crosses (one accurate) in Sunday's 2-2 draw versus Newcastle United.
Analysis: Ngumoha didn't get off to a great start in his first season as a top option on the wing. He just couldn't make a difference in the match and struggled to be consistently involved. The winger should still play a big role this season, it just might not be an immediate impact as he continues to grow and develop.
Grows into role
Ngumoha generated two shots (zero on goal), four crosses (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Brentford.
Analysis: Ngumoha ended the season as the starter on the left wing, starting three start matches and assisting once. The youngster has improved massively as the season has gone on and is one of the brightest young wingers in the world. It's unclear what his opportunities will look like next season, as Liverpool have been linked with multiple wingers in the transfer window. Depending on new additions, Ngumoha could be in for a big step up in the 2026/27 campaign.
Assists again
Ngumoha assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Chelsea.
Analysis: Ngumoha created a single chance, a simple pass to Ryan Gravenberch that the latter curled beautifully into the top corner. It wasn't a particularly inspiring assist by any means, but it's another goal contribution for Liverpool's breakout star. He later came off, with some mild cramps, though that may have been manager Arne Slot covering for the boos he received when he took off Ngumoha.
Nets in first half
Ngumoha scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal), two crosses (two accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Fulham.
Analysis: Ngumoha got the start during a rotational clash Saturday, and he rewarded that start with a brilliant curling effort off the wing. The winger hasn't gotten too many chances this season, but he's clearly talented and is a dangerous option on the ball. His role will likely remain minimal to close out this campaign.
Three shots Sunday
Ngumoha generated three shots (one on goal) and two crosses (zero accurate) in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
Analysis: Ngumoha made a rare Premier League start and looked dangerous throughout Sunday's clash. He took three shots and was a menace off the wing, causing issues with his pace and dribbling. He has struggled to earn big minutes this season, but in his limited action, Ngumoha has been a promising young winger, even if he lacks some end product.
Dealing with cramps
Ngumoha was forced off in Monday's FA Cup victory against Barnsley due to cramps as he is still building his fitness for senior soccer, coach Arne Slot said in a press conference. "I assume and think and expect it's cramp, so it tells you - it tells Rio - that I expect that a Premier League game is more intense than this one. It's very nice for him to again make 70 minutes, but that it's still very hard work to be ready for 90 in the Premier League. But that's completely normal for a 17-year-old, make no mistake about that. It's already great for him and for Liverpool and for everybody following us that a 17-year-old makes so many minutes in a Liverpool shirt. So, let's hope he can continue and we can bring him further and further towards 90 minutes at Premier League level."
Analysis: Ngumoha created two chances to go with one shot and logged 73 minutes in Monday's victory against Barnsley in the FA Cup. The 17-year-old is still building his fitness as a professional soccer player and was forced off with cramps, as it was his first start of the season as well as his match with the most minutes played. Ngumoha should be an option moving forward, likely in a bench role for the reds.
Leaves with injury Monday
Ngumoha picked up an undisclosed issue during Monday's FA Cup meeting with Barnsley.
Analysis: Ngumoha got hurt during the second half of a rare first-team start, with Ryan Gravenberch taking his place after his exit. While the extent of the youngster's injury remains unknown, he's unlikely to play a lot of minutes in the most important fixtures, with his potential loss mainly affecting the team's attacking depth.
Signs pro contract with Liverpool
Ngumoha has signed a professional contract with Liverpool on Thursday.
Analysis: Ngumoha grabbed headlines when he netted a 100th-minute winner in a 3-2 victory at Newcastle United in August during his EPL debut. The winger isn't expected to play a huge role on offense despite having elite potential, but he's expected to be brought along slowly by the coaching staff.
Scores heroic winner
Ngumoha scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Monday's 3-2 victory versus Newcastle United.
Analysis: Ngumoha came off the bench for the final minutes of Monday's clash and had a dream showing, scoring a dramatic winner smoothly into the side netting. It was a brilliant display from one of the brightest young players in England. Ngumoha set the record as the youngest goalscorer in Liverpool's history, and showed why the club has made it apparent he's already part of the first team.
