Receives two-match suspension
Inacio has been handed a two-match Bundesliga suspension following his red card against Hamburg, according to the club.
Analysis: Inacio will be unavailable for Dortmund's next two Bundesliga fixtures as a result of the dismissal. The 18-year-old attacker will miss the trip to Hoffenheim on Sept. 5 and the following league match against Paderborn, temporarily reducing Dortmund's attacking depth. He'll be eligible to return to Bundesliga action once the two-match ban has been served.
Sent off Saturday
Inacio was sent off in Saturday's game against Hamburger SV.
Analysis: Inacio was subbed into the game in the 74th minute but was given a straight red card just three minutes later. It remains to be seen whether the Disciplinary Committee will extend the ban, but he'll miss the trip to Hoffenheim on Saturday, Sep. 5. The earliest he'd be able to return to action would be against Paderborn on Sep. 12.
Signs new contract
Inacio signed a new contract with Dortmund until the end of the 2028/29 season on Friday.
Analysis: Inacio is the latest exciting youngster to come out of Dortmund's pipeline, and the striker already netted a goal in the Bundesliga. He's certainly a player to keep in mind for the future, but right now, he won't have a lot of upside.
Nets in win
Samuele Inacio scored one goal to go with two shots (two on goal) in Friday's 3-2 victory versus Eintracht Frankfurt. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 91st minute.
Analysis: Samuele Inacio took a pair of shots during Friday's clash and made the most of those chances, scoring once and earning the win. The attacker has improved throughout the last month and could be the next in Dortmund's pipeline of excellent young attackers. He's started the last three matches and now has his first Bundesliga goal.
