Workmanlike against Inter
Mastantuono had two shots (zero on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and one chance created and won two of tackles in Sunday's 2-1 loss against Inter Milan.
Analysis: Mastantuono was fizzy as usual on the offensive end but didn't have his best outing in a difficult match-up in this one. He maintained his season-long strings of outings with at least one shot and one cross, piling up 29 (nine on target) and 19 (six accurate), respectively. Furthermore, this marked his fifth straight tilt with one or more key passes (12 total) and tackles, for a total of 11 (seven won).
Muted display in Genoa tilt
Mastantuono created one scoring chance and registered three shots (one on goal), two crosses (zero accurate) and five tackles (three won) in Saturday's 2-1 loss versus Genoa.
Analysis: Mastantuono was a significant offensive nexus as usual but didn't have the same pizzazz and volume as in some of the previous displays. He still co-paced his side in attempts and extended his season-long string of fixtures with at least one shot and one cross. He has piled up 25 attempts (nine on target) and 14 deliveries (three accurate) thus far, scoring a hat-trick and creating 11 chances. Moreover, this marked his fifth straight performance with one or more corner kicks (nine total), and he also set a new season high in tackles.
Fizzy as usual in Napoli game
Mastantuono generated four shots (one on goal), three crosses (one accurate) and three corners and created four scoring chances in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Napoli.
Analysis: Mastantuono couldn't follow up his hat-trick with another goal, but he led the charge for Fiorentina for long stretches, pacing his team in attempts and key passes. He has registered at least one shot, amassing 22 (eight on target), and one cross, piling up 12 (three accurate), in four contests in a row, adding six chances created. Furthermore, this was his third outing in a row with one or more corners (eight total).
Scores hat-trick against Venezia
Mastantuono scored three goals to go with eight shots (five on target), four crosses (one accurate) and four chances created in Friday's 4-2 win against Venezia.
Analysis: Mastanuono wreaked havoc throughout the game and willed his team to victory, in particular by staging an early comeback on his own by finding the back of the net twice with sharp lefty finishes in the span of two minutes. He completed the trifecta thanks to a lucky bounce in the second half. He was fizzy but hadn't contributed to a goal in the previous tilts. He has registered at least one shot, totaling 18 (seven on target), and one cross, amassing nine (two accurate), in the first four rounds, adding six key passes. Additionally, this marked his third straight outing with one or more corners, for a total of five.
Bubbly despite loss to Frosinone
Mastantuono registered seven shots (one on goal), three crosses (zero accurate) and two corners and created two scoring chances in Saturday's 3-0 defeat against Frosinone.
Analysis: Mastantuono was a lot more active than in the opener and led his side in attempts, coming close to scoring multiple times but ultimately missing the target in most of his attempts. He has posted at least one shot, totaling eight (one on goal), and one cross, piling up four (zero accurate), in the first two rounds.
Mostly quiet in Fiorentina debut
Mastantuono drew four fouls and recorded one shot (zero on goal), one interception and one cross (zero accurate) in Monday's 4-0 loss versus Roma.
Analysis: Mastantuono got the call over Albert Gudmundsson in the opener and had a pair of intriguing bursting runs throughout the game, but his performance was impacted by Fiorentina's overall struggles in this one. He's poised to have a larger role compared to his time at Real Madrid.
Loaned to Fiorentina
Mastantuono joined Fiorentina on loan without an option to buy, the club announced.
Analysis: Mastantuono joins Fiorentina on a season-long loan after making 35 appearances and scoring three goals for Real Madrid last campaign. The deal includes an option to extend through the 2027-28 season if Fiorentina qualifies for European competition. The 18-year-old is expected to see more consistent playing time in Florence as he continues his development and adapts to European football under coach Fabio Grosso.
