Carefully increasing workload

Mora is no longer limited by his ankle knock but remains a fitness concern due to a minor hip issue, with manager Sebastian Abreu saying "He is continuing the recovery process for the inflammation in his hip. Our main concern is managing recovery times and training loads, but there is no actual injury," according to Claro Sports.

Analysis: Mora already sat out a couple of league games, first because of international duty and then due to his recovery from the hip problem. He's expected to bounce back at some point in upcoming weeks, though the fact that the artificial turf at the Tijuana stadium doesn't help prevent injuries could mean his return is delayed until the visit to Toluca on Oct. 21. The youngster was in great form with five goals and one assist over his last six official appearances for both club and country. All of Aldahir Perez, Jose Ignacio Rivero and Jonathan Padilla could continue to fill in at central midfield in Mora's absence.

Misses international friendlies

Mora (ankle) was excluded from Mexico's final two games of the international break and returned to his club to continue his rehabilitation.

Analysis: Mora ended up recording just 64 minutes of play during the long international window, scoring his country's lone goal against Colombia before suffering the injury. He's now a major doubt for future Liga MX games, and his extended absence would lead to increased involvement for both Aldahir Perez and Jose Ignacio Rivero in central midfield. The youngster was in great form with five goals and one assist across his last six official appearances for both club and country, even sparking interest from top European clubs in recent days, so Tijuana will want to be careful so that he avoids a significant issue.
