Shifts into back three
Morcillo generated one tackle (one won) and one interception in Sunday's 0-0 draw against Celta Vigo.
Analysis: Morcillo made his second consecutive LaLiga start, this time operating in Elche's back three rather than his usual midfield position. He played the full match and contributed one successful tackle and one interception as Elche secured a clean sheet. The versatile player has registered nine tackles, seven interceptions and 14 clearances across six LaLiga appearances this season. His ability to operate in multiple positions provides additional flexibility and could help him maintain a regular place in the starting lineup.
Signs with Elche
Morcillo has completed a transfer to Elche from Atletico Madrid, according to his new club.
Analysis: Morcillo is on the move this week as he finds a new club despite not going far, as the midfielder signs with Elche in La Liga. The young talent has done little in La Liga play so far, as at the age of 20, he has only appeared five times with Atletico Madrid, playing 169 minutes. That said, he will be given more opportunities with his new club for minutes, although he still will have to find a spot in the team to begin with the club.
