Wins penalty in first UCL start
Alysson generated three shots (one on goal), two crosses (one accurate) and three chances created in Wednesday's 3-1 victory versus Viking FK.
Analysis: Alysson was handed a second straight start after his first one at Newcastle ended at half time, and he responded with a lively display in Villa's 3-1 Champions League win. The winger caused problems all night with his pace and dribbling, and he was involved in both of Villa's goals after the opener. The Brazilian won the penalty that Emiliano Buendia converted and then forced the opposition to put through his own net, while also creating three chances and taking three shots. Alysson's two starts have come amid some rotation and absences, but he has shown he can be trusted with a starting spot.
Assists off bench
Alysson assisted once to go with zero corners and two chances created in Wednesday's 6-0 win against Fenerbahce.
Analysis: Alysson made the most of his 17 minutes off the bench in Villa's rout of Fenerbahce, creating two chances and setting up Tammy Abraham for the final goal. The winger had been limited to four minutes in his previous outing, and despite the bright cameo he looks to continue as an impact option from the bench for now.
