Modou Kéba Cissé

Cisse remains unavailable for the time being as he continues recovering from a hip injury, although he has not been mentioned in Aston Villa's recent injury reports.

Analysis: Cisse continues to wait for his first competitive appearance of the 2026/27 campaign after spending the past several weeks sidelined with a hip problem. The defender was absent from the squad since the start of the season and he remains unavailable for selection, with no indication that he has received clearance to resume competitive action. Aston Villa have provided limited information regarding his rehabilitation, and coach Unai Emery has not addressed his situation in recent injury updates. Cisse will need to make further progress in his recovery before being considered for first-team involvement, with no definitive timetable established for his return.

Not with team

Cisse (undisclosed) is out for Wednesday's match against Viking.

Analysis: Cisse was looking to be an option for UCL action after he was left off the injury report, but he is not yet with his team, as the defender was left off the team sheet Wednesday. There is a chance the defender was just not selected, having been a coaching decision. That said, he is yet to make a first-team appearance this season, although he has been out injured for the past month.
