Analysis: Valdepenas got his first start after playing ten minutes against Roma and was sprightly offensively but poor in the back like the rest of the Fiorentina defense. He's the lone lefty, but Alex Jimenez and Joao Mario can also man the role. He has registered at least one cross in his first two outings, totaling five (one accurate), but he hadn't picked up other stats in the opener.
Transfers to Fiorentina
Valdepenas is moving to Fiorentina on a permanent deal from Real Madrid.
Analysis: Valdepenas debuted with the first team last season and has mostly played with the Castilla side so far, totaling three goals and one assist in 46 showings in the lower leagues. He'll be an extra option in the middle of the defense and at left-back at Fiorentina. Real Madrid will be able to bring back in the future, thanks to a clause, if they wish to.
