Extends contract through 2030
Cossier has signed a new contract with Lille running through June 2030, the club announced.
Analysis: Cossier joined Lille's academy at 15 and signed his first professional contract in the summer of 2022, before he had even turned 16. He spent the 2025-26 season on loan at Le Mans FC in Ligue 2, where he was voted the league's Young Talent of the Season by followers of the competition after a campaign that highlighted his defensive solidity. Cossier is a left-footed centre-back known for his explosiveness and reading of the game and he's now back at Lille full-time after that loan experience.
Returns to Lille after promotion
Cossier will return to parent club Lille after helping Le Mans FC secure historic promotion to Ligue 1 during his season-long loan spell, the club announced.
Analysis: Cossier joined Le Mans on loan last summer to gain regular playing time in Ligue 2 after signing a contract extension with Lille until 2027, and his contribution to the club's historic promotion is a significant milestone in his development. Cossier now returns to the Domaine de Luchin having gained valuable experience at senior level, with Lille monitoring his progress before deciding on his next steps heading into the 2026/27 campaign.
