Makes first career start

Bezahaf made his first Ligue 1 start in Sunday's 2-0 victory over Troyes, recording four clearances, one tackle won and two interceptions, the player commented, according to Massilia Zone. "My first start? The coach put me in the training setups. After that, pre-match talk: we see his name in the lineup and we think: 'This is the moment to show what we're made of, that we're capable of helping this OM, which should normally be playing at the top of the table.' This stage will pass very quickly. We're going to turn things around, it happened today."

Analysis: Bezahaf earned his first career start after impressing during preseason and gradually working his way into Marseille's first-team rotation under coach Bruno Genesio. The 20-year-old right-back delivered a solid defensive performance against Troyes, helping his side secure a clean sheet while contributing four clearances, one tackle won and two interceptions. The Algeria U23 international, who signed his first professional contract through 2028, continues to make progress after coming through Marseille's academy. Despite this milestone, Bezahaf is expected to serve primarily as Timothy Weah's backup for the remainder of the season, although he could earn occasional starts when rotation is needed.

Impresses with assist in friendly

Bezahaf delivered an assist for the opener in Friday's 3-0 win in a friendly against Yamoussoukro FC.

Analysis: Bezahaf is a 20 year old right back who signed his first professional contract with Marseille through 2028 earlier this month and he impressed despite his young age and could potentially integrate the rotation heading into the 2026/27 season. The Algeria U23 international has come through the club's academy since joining at age 11 and already has two Ligue 1 appearances to his name, and a strong preseason showing under new coach Bruno Genesio could accelerate his path into regular first team consideration.
