Sota Nakamura
Logs first season assist off bench
Nakamura made an assist, had one shot on goal, created three chances, sent in two accurate crosses and was shown a yellow card during Saturday's 3-2 loss against Toulouse.
Analysis: Nakamura returned to the bench after getting his first season start in the previous game and was brought midway through the second frame as part of a triple substitution. Despite the shorter playing time, the winger did more than in any of the other four games as he assisted Josh Maja just two minutes after he took the pitch and was also involved on the play that led to his team's second goal. After this strong performance, Nakamura will be a strong candidate to return to the lineup after the international break.
Five crosses in start
Nakamura generated one shot (zero on goal), five crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 0-0 draw against Angers.
Analysis: By updating his season-high in minutes, Nakamura also updated his season-high in crosses, which more than doubled from four to nine with his single appearance Saturday. They make up the best part of Nakamura's recent offense, also including three shots (none on goal) and two chances created.
Loaned to Le Havre
Nakamura has joined Le Havre on loan from Sanfrecce Hiroshima, according to the club.
Analysis: Nakamura is a 23 year old Japan international capable of playing on the wing or through the middle and is comfortable as both a scorer and creator. His move marks his first experience in European football, and he will be joined at Le Havre by fellow Japanese teammates Ayumu Seko and Kaito Mizuta, having crossed paths with Mizuta previously at Maebashi Ikuei High School. The loan gives Nakamura a chance to test himself in Ligue 1 as he continues his development.
