Earning increased role
Diomande has started two of the last three matches after coming off the bench in each of his first five appearances of the season.
Analysis: Diomande is earning a larger role in attack after beginning the campaign exclusively as a substitute, while also registering his first assist. The winger has looked increasingly dangerous with his dribbling, a quality that was one of his main strengths with Leipzig last season, and has recorded one assist, seven chances created, 13 crosses and three shots across seven La Liga appearances, including two starts. Diomande is competing with Arda Guler and Brahim Diaz for minutes on the right wing, but his recent performances have strengthened his case for further starts.
First Real Madrid goal contribution
Diomande assisted once to go with one shot (zero on goal), three crosses (two accurate) and three chances created in Tuesday's 3-2 win versus Elche. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 4th minute.
Analysis: Diomande was back in the starting XI for Madrid, his second start in a row after only appearing from the bench to begin the campaign. He would also earn his first goal contribution, finding Kylian Mbappe in the 33rd minute. The young forward will hope to use this as a springboard, one of the more highly anticipated young talents.
