Ruled out against Lorient
Diatta has been ruled out for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash against Lorient after suffering an ankle injury, according to coach Stephane Gilli, per Ouest France.
Analysis: Diatta will miss Sunday's encounter against Lorient after picking up an ankle problem, becoming the only unavailable player in Angers' squad ahead of the fixture. The versatile midfielder and defender has made five Ligue 1 appearances this season, including one start, accumulating 124 minutes without registering a goal or assist. He most recently featured as a substitute during Saturday's 5-2 defeat against Marseille, playing just one minute, after previously missing the encounter against Brest. Diatta's most substantial involvement came against Le Havre on Sept. 12, when he played 71 minutes in an attacking midfield role. His absence should have a limited impact on Angers' starting lineup given his predominantly rotational role this season, although it reduces coach Gilli's options across midfield and defense. The severity of his ankle injury remains unclear, with no definitive timetable established for his return.
Subbed in on Sunday
Diatta recorded no stats in Sunday's 2-0 loss versus Lille.
Analysis: Diatta replaced Yassin Belkhdim in 85th minute and made only his second career Ligue 1 appearance. Diatta recorded six passes but failed to win a duel.
