Decent defensively
Lasheen recorded two clearances, three tackles and four interceptions in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Argentina.
Analysis: Lasheen was brought back into the starting XI to face Argentina after going unused in the round of 32, with the midfielder playing 89 minutes. He would see some decent work in the defense, although it was not enough to keep Argentina out of the net twice while he was on the field. That said, this follows most of his World Cup appearances, as he would not earn a goal contribution but recorded four clearances, eight interceptions and 16 tackles in his four starts.
Suspension over
Lasheen is no longer suspended and is an option for Egypt's round of 16 match against Argentina.
Analysis: Lasheen had to serve a game on the sidelines after two yellow cards in the group stage, unavailable to face Australia. However, he will now return to face the former World Champions, a major boost for the team after three straight starts in the group stage. That said, he will likely start in their round of 16 tie, sending Hamdy Fathy back to the bench after his start in the round of 32.
