Pasquale Mazzocchi
NAP
Gets some minutes versus Napoli
Mazzocchi (calf) completed two passes and had one clearance in 19 minutes in Saturday's 1-0 win over Napoli.
Analysis: Mazzocchi was finally able to debut with Napoli after a challenging start from a physical standpoint, but didn't pick up any relevant stats. He'll try to unseat especially Ridgeciano Haps and Thierry Correia (thigh) going forward.
Selected for Napoli contest
Mazzocchi (calf) has been named in Venezia's squad list to face Napoli on Saturday.
Analysis: Mazzocchi has completed his recovery from a calf injury and ramped up following a late transfer and will be an option on both wings, competing with Antoine Hainaut, Ridgeciano Haps and Richie Sagrado, while Thierry Correia (thigh) is out for this one. He featured 16 times (two starts) with Napoli last season, assisting once and tallying 15 crosses (four accurate), four key passes and 10 clearances.
Currently injured
Mazzocchi "suffered a muscular issue just as he was gearing up to start playing," coach Giovanni Stroppa communicated.
Analysis: Mazzocchi is believed to be dealing with a calf injury and has yet to be selected following a late move from Napoli to Venezia. The gaffer will continue to roll with the wing-backs he has been deploying so far.
Joining Venezia on loan
Mazzocchi joined Venezia on loan from Napoli until the end of the 2026/27 season Monday.
Analysis: Mazzocchi has been dealing with a bruised knee of late, but by the time the wing-back returns to the field, he'll do so as a Venezia player, not Napoli. The loan will run until the end of the 2026/27 season, and it'll give Mazzocchi the chance to earn first-team minutes he likely wouldn't get with the Partenopei. If healthy, Mazzocchi could make his Venezia debut against Frosinone on Sunday.
Absent versus Genoa
Mazzocchi hasn't been named in Napoli's squad list to face Genoa on Saturday due to a bruised knee.
Analysis: Mazzocchi suffered a minor injury in training and isn't a lock to stay at the club after Napoli added youngster Costantino Favasuli to back up stalwart Giovanni Di Lorenzo in the last few days.
Assists off bench
Mazzocchi assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Sunday's 3-0 win over Pisa.
Analysis: Mazzocchi came off the bench in the 88th minute and registered his first goal contribution of the season just four minutes later, setting up Rasmus Hojlund's third goal. The right wing-back has seen limited league action this season, making only two starts in 15 appearances, creating four chances and attempting two shots.
