Back in training
Gouiri (thigh) is back in training Monday and could be an option for Sunday's game at Troyes, according to Massilia Zone.
Analysis: Gouiri suffered an injury while on international duty with Algeria, but he's back in training with Marseille and could be an option for Sunday's game when the Ligue 1 resumes its campaign. Gouiri has been playing at a high level for Marseille this season with four goals and an assist in five appearances, so his return would be big for the team.
Facing only one week out
Gouiri (thigh) should be sidelined for only one week, La Provence reports, a timeline that would put him in contention for the Ligue 1 return at Troyes.
Analysis: The reported week-long absence for Gouiri overlaps almost completely with the international break, which makes him a realistic candidate to feature in the October 11 away fixture against Troyes, though this has yet to be confirmed. The striker was taken off after just 20 minutes in Friday's match against Zambia and has been released by the Algerian national team to receive treatment back in France. Given his strong recent form at Marseille, where he has contributed four goals and an assist, the encouragingly short expected recovery time is a positive development.
