Ruled out against Lens
Chergui is not in the squad for Saturday's match at Lens after feeling discomfort following last weekend's win over Rennes, per laurent grandcolas.
Analysis: Chergui misses Saturday's match at Lens after feeling discomfort at the end of the 4-3 win over Rennes on Oct. 18, which left him doubtful for the trip. Diego Coppola and Mamadou Mbow start together in central defense in his absence. His status for Paris FC's next match will depend on how quickly the problem settles.
Returns to starting lineup against Rennes
Chergui (knee) is back in Paris FC's starting lineup for Sunday's Ligue 1 clash against Rennes after recovering from knee tendinitis.
Analysis: Chergui returns to action after experiencing knee discomfort during the 1-0 defeat against Lorient, which forced him off in the 66th minute. The Algerian defender had been dealing with knee tendinitis, but his condition has improved sufficiently for him to regain his starting role in central defense against Rennes. Having established himself as a regular starter for Paris FC this season, his immediate return to the lineup provides a boost to the team's defensive stability. Otavio and Moustapha Mbow remain alternative options in central defense, although Chergui's selection suggests he has recovered well enough to handle a starting assignment.
