M'Bala Nzola
CAG
Plays in friendly
Nzola (conditioning) got the nod in Saturday's friendly versus Rayo Vallecano.
Analysis: Nzola missed the first five rounds to work on his fitness after working on the side in the pre-season while he was at Fiorentina. He'll compete and occasionally partner with Paul Mendy and Kevin Carlos going forward, potentially impacting Jacopo Fazzini and Daniel Maldini's minutes as well, depending on the formation. He spent the previous campaign at Pisa and Sassuolo, scoring four goals, assisting once and adding 39 shots (11 on target), 20 chances created and seven crosses (one accurate).
Unavailable for Lecce contest
Nzola "needs some time to work on his fitness," coach Fabio Pisacane stated.
Analysis: Nzola wasn't part of the plans at Fiorentina and wasn't training fully and didn't play in the friendlies, so he'll have to start almost from scratch at this new club. Paul Mendy will continue to lead the front line, as Kevin Carlos (personal) is missing for this one too. Alessandro Sugamele could get some minutes too.
Moves to Cagliari
Nzola has transferred from Fiorentina to Cagliari on a permanent deal.
Analysis: Nzola departs Fiorentina for good after playing temporarily for Lens, Pisa, and Sassuolo in recent years. He scored and assisted once in 2025/2026, adding 11 shots (four on target), five chances created and four tackles. He'll compete with Paul Mendy and Kevin Carlos in Sardinia.
