Ever-present in central defense
Chabot has started every Bundesliga match this season, establishing himself as a fixture in central defense.
Analysis: Chabot has been an undisputed starter through the opening four Bundesliga matches, providing a consistent presence at center-back. He has recorded nine tackles, five interceptions and 33 clearances across those appearances, with his clearance total highlighting his considerable defensive involvement. His ever-present role leaves him well positioned to remain a regular starter.
Returns in friendly
Chabot (knee) saw three minutes of action during Saturday's friendly game against Paris FC, per his club's official website.
Analysis: Chabot made progress in his recovery from a knee issue that required a minor surgery in July and had sidelined him since then. The defender was a frequent starter when available last season, so his comeback means a significant boost to the team's options heading into the 2026/27 period. His eventual presence in the lineup could lead to fewer minutes for Ramon Hendriks and Dan-Axel Zagadou.
Working back from knee injury
Chabot underwent a minor knee procedure during the offseason and is training in a controlled regimen, but his workload will be increased as the preseason goes on, the club announced Thursday.
Analysis: Chabot has made at least 26 starts in each of his two Bundesliga seasons with Stuttgart, and if he's healthy enough for the start of the 2026/27 campaign, he should maintain his role in the backline. Chabot registered a career-high 200 clearances, as well as 36 interceptions and 34 tackles, in the 2025/26 Bundesliga season.
