Misses Newcastle clash
Strand Larsen (undisclosed) has been left out of Crystal Palace's matchday squad for Sunday's Premier League clash against Newcastle United after suffering an injury during Thursday's Europa League encounter against Besiktas.
Analysis: Strand Larsen remains sidelined after being forced off during Thursday's European fixture against Besiktas, where he played 24 minutes as a substitute before sustaining an undisclosed injury. The forward has not recovered in time for Sunday's trip to Newcastle, although the severity of the issue and his expected recovery timeline remain unclear. Jean-Philippe Mateta, who recently returned from a hamstring injury, remains Palace's main option to lead the attack in Strand Larsen's absence. His availability for upcoming matches will depend on further assessment of the injury.
Forced off Thursday
Strand Larsen abandoned Thursday's UEFA Europa League match against Besiktas due to injury.
Analysis: Strand Larsen played 24 minutes as a substitute in the European clash, but he was unable to continue for the final moments, suggesting he suffered a relevant issue. While the severity of the concern is not yet confirmed, the upcoming clash against Newcastle might come too soon for him. His absence would leave Palace with Jean-Philippe Mateta, who just recently returned from his hamstring issue, as the main option to lead the front line.
