Pontus Almqvist
Picks up calf injury
Almqvist sustained a low-grade left calf strain in training, Parma announced.
Analysis: Almqvist will need three to four weeks to heal from the muscular problem. He has been having decent success as a super sub, scoring and assisting once in limited minutes. Matija Frigan, Giovanni Fabbian and Ousmane Diallo will absorb his minutes.
Scores winner in 2-1 win
Almqvist scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal), one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 2-1 victory over Genoa.
Analysis: Almqvist came from the bench with 33 minutes to go. At the time, his team were 1-0 ahead. They would conceded with 20 minutes to go, but he would score the winning goal with 10 minutes to go. He has come off the bench in each of the five games so far this season and this was his first goal. In the last game, he had come from the bench to assist.
Assist in 10-minute cameo
Almqvist assisted once to go with zero corners and one chance created in Monday's 2-1 loss versus Como.
Analysis: Almqvist came off the bench for Sascha Britschgi in the 80th minute and set up Jose David Romero's 92nd minute consolation goal, creating one chance during his brief run on the pitch. He brought a much-needed spark down the right flank as Parma pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages. Almqvist now has one Serie A assist across four substitute appearances this season.
Sets up goal on Sunday
Almqvist assisted once to go with two shots (zero on goal), one cross (one accurate) and one chance created in Sunday's 1-0 victory against Sassuolo.
Analysis: Almqvist set up Mateo Pellegrino for the only goal of the game in the 80th minute. Almqvist completed just four passes and made one tackle. He has featured in 13 games this campaign, starting only four times, and this was his first goal contribution of the season.
