Back available Friday
Balogun (knee) is an option for Friday's match against Lens, according to the club.
Analysis: Balogun had been closing in on a return, with coach Filipe Luis previously saying he was very close and gradually finding good physical condition through additional sessions. His confirmed availability now marks his first involvement of the season, giving Monaco back a proven attacking option after he recorded 13 goals and four assists across 30 appearances last season.
Late call for lens match
Balogun (knee) is a late call for Friday's match against Lens, according to manager Filipe Luis. "Folarin is gradually finding a good physical condition, day after day, and does additional sessions to catch up. He is therefore very close to a return, maybe even from Friday's game, but it depends on me."
Analysis: Balogun has been closing in on a return to action this week after his absence from the first few matches of the season and is the closest he has been to a return yet, with the forward potentially in the mix for Friday's contest. This would give the club some depth back in the attack and a useful option, recording 13 goals and four assists in 30 appearances in the club's last campaign. However, it will be interesting to see what role he maintains after a botched transfer to Everton this offseason, hopefully remaining in a decent role.
