Analysis: Tchouameni returns to the starting XI for Tuesday's clash after spending two matches sidelined with a thigh injury. He was technically available off the bench for both matches, but wasn't fit enough to be selected. Now that he's back fit, Manu Kone falls to the bench, with Tchouameni set to partner Adrien Rabiot.

Tchouameni (thigh) has made progress in his rehabilitation and could be active even as a starter in the World Cup semifinals against Spain, Damien Degorre and Loic Tanzi of L'Equipe report.
Analysis: Tchouameni has been sidelined over the last two knockout games, but his absence hasn't stopped France from dominating and winning all of their matches, and it's in the upcoming round where they'll need him most. If he's indeed available to start, he should take Manu Kone's place alongside Adrien Rabiot in the defensive midfield line. Such role would allow the Real Madrid player to produce passing and ball recovery stats, currently averaging 1.3 chances created and 4.3 tackles per game at the international tournament.. However, it remains to be seen if he's ready to play 90 or possibly 120 minutes in the next fixture.
