Assists one of three goals
Adamu had an assist while taking three shots (two on goal) and creating two chances during Friday's 3-1 win over Union Berlin.
Analysis: Adamu set up Adil Aouchiche in the 46th minute assisting Schalke's second goal while creating the second most chances on the team. The assist was the first since joining Schalke in the summer as Adamu has combined for five shots and three chances created over his first two appearances with the club.
Two shots in Schalke debut
Adamu had two shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Sunday's 3-0 loss against FC Augsburg.
Analysis: Adamu made his debut with Schalke on Sunday after his transfer from Freiburg, with the forward registering 62 minutes of play and a start. He would record two shots and one chance created, although they amounted to nothing. His starting role to begin the season is a good sign for the forward, but the question remains if he can produce at the Bundesliga level.
Joins Schalke 04
Adamu signed with Schalke 04 from Freiburg on a contract through June 2029, the club announced.
Analysis: Adamu spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic, where he won both the Scottish championship and the cup, before making the permanent move to Schalke 04. The 25-year-old Austrian international made 67 appearances for Freiburg, scoring seven goals and providing four assists, having previously made 84 appearances for RB Salzburg where he won two Austrian titles and contributed 23 goals and 11 assists. Sporting director Youri Mulder highlighted his pressing intensity, ability to make deep runs and versatility across multiple attacking positions as key factors behind the signing, describing him as a team player capable of fitting into different tactical systems.
