Adrià Pedrosa
Training away from group
Pedrosa (undisclosed) is training away from the group and should be considered doubtful to play against Athletic Club on Saturday, according to Oscar Martinez of Union Rayo.
Analysis: Pedrosa missed the friendly against Cagliari last week due to an undisclosed issue, and the fact that the left-back has yet to return to group training with the Athletic match right around the corner is a bit concerning. Pedrosa has been a regular starter on the left side for the Vallecas club, tallying a goal and an assist across five league outings, and if he's unable to play Saturday, then the coaching staff would have to improvise, as Ivan Balliu (ankle) is also a game-time decision.
Sits out friendly with minor issue
Pedrosa was left out of Rayo Vallecano's squad for Saturday's friendly against Cagliari, but the issue is not serious and he will be available against Athletic Club, Pablo Villa of Marca reports.
Analysis: Pedrosa sat out the Cagliari friendly with mild muscle discomfort and did individual work before the match. The issue does not appear serious and looks closer to load management than a genuine injury concern. He has become an important part of coach Benat San Jose's side, with four starts, a goal and an assist in five La Liga appearances.
Sets up equalizer Saturday
Pedrosa assisted once to go with five crosses (zero accurate) and two chances created in Saturday's 1-1 draw versus Osasuna.
Analysis: Pedrosa supplied the decisive pass for Rayo's lone goal, finding Sergio Camello in the center of the box for the striker's 50th-minute equalizer. The left-back played the entire contest and contributed at both ends as Rayo controlled 63 percent of possession and outshot Osasuna 19-9. It was Pedrosa's first assist of the LaLiga campaign, and since the defender also scored in the 2-1 win over Espanyol, he's undoubtedly trending in the right direction.
Scores against Espanyol
Pedrosa scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and two crosses (zero accurate) in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Espanyol.
Analysis: Pedrosa was a constant threat going forward, and the left-back capitalized on one of those opportunities to give Rayo a 2-0 lead from a tight angle after an assist from Alvaro Garcia. Pedrosa isn't known for his goalscoring, but he offers attacking upside through his crossing. This was his third straight start, and he's posted solid numbers since then, racking up one goal, four shots, five chances created, eight crosses, four tackles and seven clearances.
Makes first start for Rayo
Pedrosa had two shots (one on goal), four crosses (zero accurate) and one corner in Saturday's 3-2 win over Racing Santander.
Analysis: Pedrosa made his first start since joining Rayo on loan and put together a strong performance at left back. He recorded four crosses and took two shots on the attack, providing a nice outlet on the attack on the left side. He also won three duels, one tackle and made one clearance on the defensive end, putting forth a strong 75 minutes before he was replaced by Ivan Balliu.
Loaned to Rayo Vallecano
Pedrosa will spend the rest of the 2026/27 season on loan at Rayo Vallecano from Sevilla, who made the transaction official Thursday.
Analysis: Pedrosa has been a useful left-back with attacking projection for both Sevilla and Elche over the last few years, but he failed to earn a regular role during his last loan spell with the latter of those teams. He did score one goal and one assist over 26 league appearances (eight starts) in 2025/26 while boosting his creative output with occasional corner kicks. His role at the Vallecano side remains to be defined, but he should be expected to contend for the spot currently occupied by Jozhua Vertrouwd.
Returning to Sevilla
Pedrosa has returned to Sevilla after his loan at Elche concluded at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
Analysis: Pedrosa alternated in the XI for Elche in 2025/26, making eight starts out of 26 appearances for the Franjiverdes. Pedrosa will fight with Oso and Gabriel Suazo for a role on Sevilla's left side of the defense in 2026/27 as long as he's not loaned out once again.
Subbed in on Sunday
Pedrosa generated one clearance in Sunday's 1-0 win versus Getafe.
Analysis: Pedrosa replaced Andre Silva in the 66th minute and recorded eight touches and four passes. Pedrosa has now come off the bench for back-to-back appearances and has only started eight of his 26 appearances this campaign.
