Signs with Como
Chalobah has completed a transfer to Como from Chelsea, according to his new club.
Analysis: Chalobah is off to Italy after some time in England with Chelsea over the past few seasons, with the 27-year-old inking a deal until 2031 with Como. This is a huge addition for the team as they gain someone with experience in the top league in the world, likely to be a very useful option as they enter UCL play for the first time. He was a decent option for Chelsea last campaign, despite their drop in the table, notching 31 starts in 34 appearances to go along with nine clean sheets. He will now compete with Jacobo Ramon and Marc-Oliver Kempf for a starting role at center-back, with a decent chance to be a starter to open the season.
Called up by England
Chalobah has been called up to England's World Cup squad as a replacement for the injured Valentino Livramento and is travelling to join the squad in the United States, though he is not expected to be involved against Croatia in the opener and will be available from the second group fixture against Ghana, according to the FA.
Analysis: Chalobah returned from an ankle injury that had disrupted his final weeks at Chelsea, and his call-up comes at short notice following Valentino Livramento's (calf) setback. The Blues defender gives coach Thomas Tuchel additional defensive cover heading into what promises to be a competitive group stage campaign for the Three Lions.
