Giorgi Tsitaishvili
Signs with Rayo Vallecano
Tsitaishvili has signed with Rayo Vallecano through the 2028/29 season, according to the club.
Analysis: Tsitaishvili recorded three goals and two assists across 2,457 minutes for Metz last season, having previously bounced around on loan with several clubs, including Granada, Dinamo Batumi, Lech Poznan and Wisla Krakow, during his time under contract with parent club Dynamo Kyiv. The Georgia international now opens a new chapter of his career in LaLiga with Rayo Vallecano, where his versatility should give him a chance to battle for a spot in the starting XI.
Out Sunday
Tsitaishvili (eye) won't be an option for Sunday's game against Nice, according to Angelo Salemi of RL Sports.
Analysis: Tsitaishvili is one of several players who won't be available for Metz in the final game of the season. The winger started in all but one game since the beginning of November and hadn't missed a single Ligue 1 contest throughout the season before this matchup. In his place, expect Giorgi Abuashvili to potentially move into the XI. Tsitaishvili ends the 2025-26 Ligue 1 campaign with three goals and two assists in 33 league outings and 28 starts.
Eight crosses Sunday
Tsitaishvili registered one shot (zero on goal), eight crosses (one accurate) and two chances created in Sunday's 4-0 defeat versus Lorient. In addition, he was given a yellow card in the 23rd minute.
Analysis: Tsitaishvili's eight crosses mark his highest in the category since March 1. Since the month began, his 10 appearances include two G/A (one goal and one assist) on 19 chances created, 12 accurate crosses and 10 corners.
