Fit for bench
Akgun (undisclosed) is on the bench for Thursday's match against the USA.
Analysis: Akgun is back in the team sheet after some injury concerns at training, with the forward recovering from an undisclosed injury. He did start their last match but was likely to drop to the bench to face the USA, even if he was fit, potentially seeing some time from the bench to end his World Cup.
Leaves training with minor injury
Akgun (undisclosed) left team training Monday and ended the session indoors due to a minor injury, with the issue managed cautiously ahead of Turkey's final group stage match against the United States on Thursday, according to DHA.
Analysis: Akgun had been quiet in Turkey's defeat against Paraguay, recording just two crosses without registering a shot or chance created. His availability for the USA fixture will be assessed over the coming days as coach Vincenzo Montella's squad continues preparations in Arizona before flying to Los Angeles. Akgun started the last game but is likely to find a bench role with Baris Yilmaz expected to start on the right wing.
