Picks up assist versus NEC

McKennie (undisclosed) assisted once to go with one key pass, four tackles (two won) and one cross (one accurate) in 60 minutes in Wednesday's 5-0 win over NEC Nijmegen.

Analysis: McKennie returned and started as anticipated by the coach, playing on the left wing in a different scheme, dishing out a helper in the rout. He's bound to a fixture, regardless of his role and the formation, since he's highly versatile and generally effective on both ends. He has recorded two off-target shots and two clearances in his lone previous seasonal appearance.

Will return midweek

McKennie (undisclosed) "will play against NEC Nijmegen, maybe from the start," coach Luciano Spalletti stated.

Analysis: McKennie will return from a three-game absence and eventually resume starting over either Tuen Koopmeiners, Nicolas Gonzalez, or Kerim Alajbegovic, considering his versatility. He had taken two off-target shots and notched two clearances in his lone appearance so far.
