Zizo recorded one pass completed in Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Argentina.
Analysis: Zizo was barely used in Egypt's final World Cup match of the tournament, as the midfielder was only brought on in stoppage time. That would only lead to a pass completed in his time on the field. His World Cup would be a bit disappointing, as he would only earn 53 minutes of play in his four appearances from the bench.
Unremarkable across five minutes
Zizo logged one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) across five minutes during Egypt's 3-1 win Sunday against New Zealand.
Analysis: As expected, Zizo has been a reserve, with Egypt's flanks including Emam Ashour (left) and Mostafa Ziko (right) as part of an attacking quartet alongside Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush. Even so, the Egyptians have been looking for a backup go-to, and Zizo has logged opportunities. For the World Cup, between Egypt's two games is his 19 minutes. Despite less time Sunday, Zizo logged better opportunities against New Zealand, highlighted by a wide-open chance he took too long on after getting past goalkeeper Maxime Teremoana Crocombe. The lack of clinical fishing may indicate why Zizo has been benched for Ashour and Ziko, both with goals this tournament. At the very least, Zizo and Trezeguet appear to be Egypt's go-to backups, which can be a plus.
